Why this Web site was created

This Web site was created to help make it easy for Jews to find scholarships, schools, and resources to study in Israel. It was compiled by a student doing her own such research when she came to study in 2005.

History

In February 2005, our Web site's creator decided she wanted to come study in Israel. The only problem was that, even with a "good job," she was living paycheck to paycheck and didn't have the savings to pay for the airplane ticket, tuition, and food to be here in Israel.

She started doing quite a bit of research, contacting everyone she knew who had studied in Israel. All of that work paid off, as she was able to raise enough money through scholarships and through a little of her own money to be able to afford a 6-week summer program in Israel.

To help other students who were in the same situation that she was in, she emailed out her list of scholarships to her friends in August 2005. Then in October 2005, she created a Blog with that list. Finally, in October 2006, she and some of her friends created this expanded Web site to share with others what they learned about studying in Israel.
